Job Overview:

Due to Client growth, we are actively seeking a Project Control Specialist for long-term project support to our US offices within K&A Engineering. The person will work with K&A and external project PM to create and maintain project schedules, analyze, and control the project’s budget from the estimates they receive from PMs (No estimating), and create reports for the projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Project Controls services include but are not limited to the following:

• Processing forecasting trends and estimating in support of electrical transmission and distribution or other large construction projects.
• Lead implementation of project controls best practices and process improvement to ensure department-wide consistency, enhance communication, and improve client satisfaction.
• Lead any corporate and/or program-wide process and/or quality improvement initiatives.
• Respond to cost or schedule data requests from internal or external organizations.
• Work closely with K&A and external project PMs to create and maintain project schedules
• Analyze and control the project’s budget from the estimates received from PMs
• Create reports for the projects

Qualifications and Required Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of experience balancing and organizing multiple projects reviewing and documenting project progress developing communication plans, reviewing and updating scope and progress for construction projects
• A four-year college degree is a preferred major in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical discipline
• Project management and construction management experience
• Experience using Primavera P6 Software, Microsoft Project, Power BI, and Smartsheet
• Proficient in Visio and Scheduling/Cost Management software (i.e., Primavera P6 and Contract Manager)
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
• Extensive experience in ERP, schedule planning, and management
• Customer-focused to understand and quickly respond to client’s business needs
• Strong oral and written communication skills and be able to present complex technical information in simple non-technical terms
• Demonstrated ability to validate and accurately analyze the information as well as make sound decisions that have considerable business impact. Demonstrated ability to initiate evaluate and implement suggestions to optimize the effectiveness of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate the primary linkages between project controls and the disciplines of estimating project management engineering construction contract administration and project accounting
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the field of project controls project planning CPM scheduling budgeting commitment analysis change order processing estimating forecasting trends and Earned Value Management (EVM)
