MAW Skills Academy; is an initiative of MAW Enterprises under its subsidiary MAW Earthmovers Pvt. Ltd. (MEPL) with distributorship of premium automobile companies including JCB in the heavy earthmoving and construction sector since 1964. MAW Skills Academy, in association with UCEP Nepal and Citizen Prabidhik Sikshyalaya, is  mandated by FCDO Skills for Employment Programme (सीप) to  deliver skills development training for employment in heavy equipment operation and maintenance during the pilot phase in three provinces (Province 2, Bagmati Province and Lumbini Province) and with three major outputs: (i) Increased access to employment-linked high-quality training and certification for target population, especially disadvantaged groups in underserved regions; (ii) At least 900 youth, particularly those from underserved geographies and target group, mobilized, trained, certified, and employed at least 80%; and (iii) Increased and improved employer/industry engagement in the TVET system and cross-sectoral institutional linkages. The project has been implemented in a unique model of partnership between private employer/service provider and training institutes with the intention of providing affordable, industry-aligned skills training, certification, and employment in heavy equipment operation while also upgrading the capacity of the training institutes.

Job Purpose:  Sr. Instructor will be responsible for overall training management and quality training delivery and evaluation of students at the Training Centre (JCB Operator Training Centre), Nepalgunj managed by MAW Skills Academy partner Citizen Prabhidhik Sikhayalaya.

 

         Evaluate instructors and other staff members to ensure that the standardized curriculum is adhered to, and identify areas of improvement.

         Discipline students/trainees according to OTC policy and enforce OTC rules, such as the dress code and attendance policy.

         Provide guidance and counseling services to students/trainees on their vocational goals and offer assistance with behavioral modification programs.

         Establish curriculum guidelines in collaboration with other instructors in the OTCs (Bhaktapur, Janakpur and Nepalgunj), and ensure that guidelines are adhered to.

         Coordinate with other OTCs in Janakpur and Bhaktapur for learning sharing and knowledge exchange on OTCs.

         Report in weekly basis to MAW Skills Academy in Kathmandu on training status/progress, issues, challenges, strategies)

         Assist Coordinator to establish linkages with business industries, local governments for marketing of students and employment placement

         Perform other duties as assigned by MAW Skills Academy to support the OTC/CPS.

         Prepare Annual Training Calendar and execution of Heavy Equipment Operator Training in collaboration with Coordinator and CPS team

         Work as lead instructor in delivering trainings under OTC

         Provide on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and support to new trainees, including technical knowledge of Heavy Equipment

         Conduct Initial Assessment for pre-operator training to determine if potential trainees meet minimal requirements for training and directs them as needed.

         Track all classes and training in database and ensuring case notes are completed after each class.

         Collaborate with team members (other trainers) in the planning, and delivery of all training curricula.

         Participate in all training-related projects as assigned, which may include special assistance upon request, assistance at conferences or programs, and any other projects requested by management.

         Mobilize Asst. Instructor/practical instruction on Demo and Practical classes.

         Ensure training equipment (machines) are properly operated during the training.

         Ensure log-book of training equipment (machines) maintained based on training delivery.

         Maintain regular contact with the graduating trainees from training start until job placement phase.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 •Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering from a recognized university/Institution

         Minimum experience of 3 years related field as well as experience in training delivery

         Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team and under pressures

         Should be able to lead the team to achieve targets.

         Good communication skills and presentation skills.

   Possess good skill in operating e-mail, internet and MS-Office applications
